I frequently give presentations about my research at (international) conferences and at other universities. Some of these presentations take place in-person, while others happen online.
I’ve had the privilege to share my research at Utrecht University, the Scottish Center for China Research at the University of Glasgow, the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals, Heidelberg University, National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, Hong Kong University, the University of Maryland, and several other places. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to present my research at annual meetings organised by the American Political Science Association, the European Consortium for Political Research, the International Public Policy Association, and the Midwest Political Science Association as well as the Conference on Policy Process Research. In addition to these major international conferences, I frequently attend domestic and smaller events, such as the annual China Policy Studies conference organized by Beijing Normal University and the annual One Health Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance Containment in Hangzhou.
If you’d like to invite me to speak at your university, organization, conference, or other event about topics related to policy processes, policymaking, policy implementation, policy design in China, or on other topics listed here, feel free to contact me.
In recent years, I have also participated as speaker in events about equity, diversity, and inclusion in academia. This includes the DKU Women in Leadership Panel Discussion (May 2022), the Tengchong Women in Science Forum (December 2024), and the Netherlands-China Seminar on Women in Science seminar at the Netherlands Embassy in Beijing (March 2025). I have been interviewed about women in academia for the online video series “She Says,” which celebrates the role of women in society following the 30 year anniversary of the Beijing World Conference on Women in 1995. My engagement with these topics is based on my experience as chair of the DKU Equity and Diversity Committee and reflects my personal belief that we all benefit from a more diverse society and that and that diversity is essential for meeting today’s global challenges. Feel free to reach out by email if you’d like to invite me to events focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
